Current handling times for CPPs
Due to increased demand, EMA has temporarily extended the target handling time of ten working days for certificates of pharmaceutical products (CPPs) requested through the standard procedure to 30 working days.
Temporary arrangements during EMA’s relocation
As a consequence of EMA’s relocation to Amsterdam, there will be changes to the timelines for requesting and production of CPPs between January and March 2019.
Printing and dispatching of certificates will temporarily cease on 25 February 2019 and resume again on 14 March 2019. Requests will still be processed during this period. Companies can continue to submit requests but no certificates will be printed or dispatched until after 14 March 2019.
Revised guidance for urgent and standard procedures is available.
CPPs are issued by EMA, on behalf of the European Commission, to confirm the marketing authorisation status of centrally authorised and Article 58 medicines. For more information, see Certification of medicinal products.
