The European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) Management Board has today re-elected Sir Kent Woods as its chair for a three-year mandate. Sir Kent, the former Chief Executive of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) of the United Kingdom, is one of the longest-serving members on the EMA Management Board. This is his second and final mandate, as the rules of procedure of the Board foresee a maximum of two terms.

Accepting his re-election, Professor Woods thanked the Board for their continued confidence in him as chair: “I am proud to lead the Management Board in these turbulent times. As the Agency undergoes significant changes, the Board provides guidance and stewardship for the Agency to enable it to continue its role in the protection of public and animal health and maintaining public trust.”
