In November 2013, an independent scientific review of the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) was carried out by a review panel chaired by Professor Sir Patrick Sissons of University of Cambridge.
The review was carried out at the request of the Chief Medical Officer to consider and make recommendations about the current position and the future direction of the scientific work of NIBSC and its geographic location.
The Sissons Report was produced in January 2014 and presented to and endorsed by MHRA board in February. The report is available below.
